PRESS RELEASE: May GRo FIT Glow Party

Brooklyn, NY – Here’s a quick recap from the 4th installment of the GRo FIT Glow Party, that was held on Friday, May 30, 2014 in Brooklyn, NY. The event was filled with a wondrous glow light theme, pumped-up sound, dynamic instructors, motivated like-minded individuals and non-stop fun, laughter, motivation and fitness!!!

I would like to thank the dynamic featured instructors, Moses from Motivation by Moses, Nakisha from Alwayz Fit 4 Lyfe and Kiara from Soca Afro-bics; the awesome production team which were, Lee from Love Star Lighting and Sound, D.O.C. from Team Wingate(video) and Cleon from MayJah Vybz Sounds; the resourceful operations team which were, Tiesha Henry, Daquan Henry and Cindy Ebanks; Knoxx from BK Beasts, Abs from Team Wingate, Jean from Tropical Reflections, Biscuit from Cascades and more…

Featured Exercise – Burpee with an Air Squat

WHAT: Burpee with an air squat
TARGET: Total body
SAFETY QUEUES: Make sure shoes are laced securely. Be sure to land flat on your feet before and after air squat.

*Note: Every exercise is not suited for everyone. If you feel you need a regressed variation of this exercise, then this exercise is not for you.

Stepper Series Pt.2

PART 2 OF THE GWEN RO “STEPPER SERIES”

DIRECTIONS/NOTES:
1. Turn the stepper upside down.
2. Place your toes in the center ridges of the stepper and feet shoulder width apart for proper weight distribution and handling.
3. Keep your back straight and shoulders in line with your elbows and wrists.
4. Using predominantly your core, pull the stepper as close to your chest as possible.
5. Return to starting position, then do a push-up.
6. Repeat steps 4 and 5.
(This particular exercise is wrist intense. Every exercise is not meant for everyone. This exercise may also be done on a towel or in socks.)

ROUTINE(S):
1. Do 1 stepper movement to your chest followed by 1 pushup, then 1 stepper movement to your chest then 2 pushups… Go up to 10 then back down. (If 10 is too high for you then choose a smaller number)
2. Timed: How many can you do in 60 seconds?

PART 1 OF THE GWEN RO “STEPPER SERIES”
Directions/Notes:
1. Turn the stepper upside down.
2. Place your toes in the center of the stepper for proper weight distribution and handling.
3. Keep your back straight and shoulders in line with your elbows and wrists.
4. Using predominantly your core, pull the stepper as close to your chest as possible, then back to the starting position.
(This particular exercise is wrist intense. Every exercise is not meant for everyone. This exercise may also be done on a towel or while wearing socks.)

ROUTINE:
1. How many can you do in 60 seconds?
